The Woodpecker might have to go!

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark... One: Don't miss the boat. Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat. Three: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark. Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big. Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done. Six: Build your future on high ground. Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs. Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. Nine: When you're stressed, float a while. Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals. Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. NOW, wasn't that nice? Pass it along and make someone else smile, too.

Parable of the Rich Young Fool

My Dad's great. He got promoted about three months ago and I went with him to pick out his new Mercedes X series company car. All my friends were dead jealous. We needed so much space for all our stuff that we moved to a huge house about a month ago. Dad said we can afford it as he's done so well this year. Mum also wanted a 'chillout' room and there just wasn't enough space, she said. Dad said our old house was in the wrong area but I miss my friends.

Dad told me to get my Christmas list ready last night and to think big. I really want the new Sega Zion system. It's only £299. I couldn't think of anything else as I've got loads of gadgets. But I'm planning a big Christmas party for all my friends - Dad's paying! No worries.

Earlier Mum was crying in the kitchen but a man in the suit wouldn't let me in. All I could hear him say was 'I'm sorry, Mrs Anderson, there was nothing they could do.'

It's late now and Dad's not home. Where is he?

'What are we going to do now?' Mum shouted to one of the neighbours, 'We can't afford all this now! Spend, spend, spend that was him all over. What a fool.'
